Environmental management at Pilz
Pilz works with its suppliers to draw up quality and environment-oriented delivery terms and regularly carries out assessments based on ecological orientation.
Pilz works with authorities, associations and other institutions and also tracks the legal developments in this area.
Pilz promotes understanding of quality, safety and environmental protection among its staff through training and constant information.
It is the responsibility of every staff member to be conscious of the environment. Continuous improvement is guaranteed thanks to the continual improvement process system (CIP system).
Development of environmentally-friendly products using ecological materials and energy-saving technologies: - Energy-saving sensors, control systems and actuators.
- Sustainable improvement of the pollutant balance through conversion from lead-based to lead-free solder.
- Reduction of the harmful substances in manufacturing resources.
- Revision of the hazardous substance register in accordance with the REACH regulation.
Offices and production facilities are ecologically designed, environmentally-aware and energy-saving: - Photovoltaic plant to generate power and improve the CO2 balance.
- Approximately 50% reduction in lighting energy by upgrading the lighting used in production.
- Building core activation for effective energy usage in the Peter Pilz Technology Centre. This creates a pleasant temperature all year round, while saving a considerable amount of energy and therefore also CO2.
Pilz records its environmental performance (energy consumption, waste accumulation, water consumption) and evaluates the results in order to improve long-term environmental performance.
